STUDYtips

1. Get a book on time management
I have one.

2. Write down your goals
Out of sight, out of mind.

3. Plan a home timetable
And stick to it.

4. Get yourself some treats
You don't want to do infuriating mathematics and end up stressed out. Chocolate really helps.

5. Tidy up the desk

6. FILING
I guess a lot of people have problems with this. Laziness. That includes ME as well. BUT, that will be changed.

7. Start doing notes
On this point, who wants to start doing notes on Saturday, 8Janurary2006? I reckon group study really helps, unless you have no self-discipline at ALL.

8. Don't be contented with a PASS

9. Get a calender
It's important for you to note down your examinations and tests dates. This ensures that you keep getting reminded of them; and hopefully, you will start revising.

10. Don't hole yourself up and isolate from the world.
Go out. Enjoy life. Smile. Go SHOPPING. Indulge. Play WARCRAFT/MAPLE. Just have fun.

I hope that helps.
It's from me.

The followings are from myjellybean studycentral. I hope you can benefit from them.

LEARN GOOD STUDY SKILLS
A consistent time and place is best. Use your desk to study, and try to study at a regular time each day.

Start immediately when you sit down to study. Don't fall into other distractions like answering emails from friends or doodling. You can do that stuff later, as a reward for yourself - if you get your studying done!

Plan what you want to accomplish. At the beginning of your study session, write down exactly what you want to get done (complete two pages of an essay, finish a paper, write a short story, answer ten math questions, learn a new computer function, etc).

Break down large tasks into smaller ones. For example, if you have to write an essay, the tasks might include coming up with a thesis, writing a solid first paragraph, planning out the points you want to cover, researching those points, writing each section, etc.

Keep a "log book" or record of what you accomplish in each study section. You can look over it later and be impressed with yourself!

Keep your studying supplies in a handy place, like in a shoe box. Have them organized so you can grab what you want quickly, without having to rummage around.

Be aware of when you start to daydream, and stop right away. Make yourself concentrate for blocks of time. Then give yourself regular breaks to refresh your brain. Try studying for 45 minutes, then resting for 15 minutes.

Getting enough sleep is important for effective studying and remembering. Get to sleep at a reasonable time each night. Avoid caffeine a few hours before bedtime so your sleep is uninterrupted.

Eating well gives your body and brain the fuel it needs. Eat three good meals a day and don't skip breakfast. Try to eat a balanced diet of good healthy foods and not too much junk.

Exercise will increase your memory and your study stamina, as well as making you feel generally more confident. Aim for three to four exercise sessions a week, doing 20 or more minutes in each workout session.

GET MOTIVATED TO STUDY
Identify your goals in life. Maybe you want to be a doctor, or a famous singer, or a social worker. Realize that without a good education and good grades, you won't meet your goals. Even if your fantasy future doesn't require education, how embarrassing would it be for people to find out you did crappy in school! Decide to take charge of your future by taking charge of your study habits.

Use your time wisely. Set priorities by making a calendar of the month, and setting aside specific time blocks on specific days for studying.

Give yourself enough time to do the work you need to do. If you finish early, you can goof off. But stick to your calendar and don't blow off studying for anything else.

Study in small blocks instead of long time periods. For example, you will accomplish more if you schedule yourself to study/work in 60 minute blocks, than if you study/work for 2-3 hours straight, with no breaks. Think of this when you're creating your study calendar.

Reward yourself after you complete a task. When you study for the whole time you set aside for yourself, do something nice to reward yourself.

Motivate yourself by studying with friends. Having a "study buddy" to help you stick to your schedule can be very helpful. Just be sure you both commit to the same study calendar.

Break large assignments into small tasks. Do one piece at a time, instead of freaking about getting the whole thing done.

Keep a reminder schedule and checklist of what you need to get done, and when it's due.

Make your environment work for you. Eliminate or minimize noise/distraction. Make sure you have adequate lighting. Have necessary equipment (pencils, paper, reference books) at hand. Don't waste time going back and forth to get things.

Be neat! Take a few minutes to straighten your desk. This can help to reduce day-dreaming.

PREPARE YOUR DESK FOR STUDYING

Here is what you should have on your desk:

-Your assignment notebook/binder
-Solid flat surface for writing
-Good lighting (not too bright, not too dim)
-Chair you can sit upright in comfortably
-Textbooks/reference books/research materials
-Supplies (pen, pencil, eraser, white-out, markers, ruler, stapler, post-it notes, sissors, calculator, protrater, compass, etc)
-Clock (to help you manage your time)
-Computer (if needed)

-If you wear glasses, put them on!

-Eliminate all distractions

-Put on music if it makes you study better, or shut the door if you study best in quiet. Hint: listenting to soft classical music makes you learn and remember better!

-Turn off the TV

There is much more at the studycentral.
Check it out yourself.
Use them to help you.
